Professional Training & Experience Isolation exists only in isolation, once shared it evaporates -Irvin Yalom
My foundational training was at Spectrum Therapy which, now closed, was the UK's largest humanistic psychotherapy training centre and practice for over forty years. Spectrum valued experiential training, life long learning and personal agency. Values I share today.
My professional training includes : One year Intensive Course in Psychotherapy - all the basics of humanistic therapy in a very intensive and experiential way. One year Continuation Course - designed to deepen and extend the understanding and experience. Three years of Post-Graduate Courses in Psychotherapy - allowing participants to delve even deeper into specific topics such as counselling, group work and one to one. Three day "Women's Marathon" - residential and very intensive. Six Month Counseling Course - detailing the therapist-client relationship. A Module on Sexuality. A women only group that explored the psychology of sexuality. A Re-Parenting Intensive - with somatic body work to help discover old patterns and ways of behaviour within themselves. An Anger Management Workshop - illuminating relationships to feelings of anger and offering constructive ways of experiencing, expressing and meeting anger. Non-Violent Communication workshop - exploring the use of language within conflict. Clinical Skills Workshop - developing and learning professional approaches. Imago Couples Relationship training - a clear framework to create safety for couples. Imago Professional FacilitatorTraining- extended Imago learning and approaches. Getting the Love you Want workshop with Sophie Slade - couples workshop. Family constellations workshop - pattern-breaking workshop.
Professional Supervision. As a therapist I am in Professional Supervision with another Therapist. Professional Peer Support Group. This group brings me new ideas, information and the latest Humanistic Therapy thinking.

A little about my personal self
A long time expatriate, I have lived, worked and raised a family in three countries since leaving my home in New Zealand.
The power of therapy to help us find our true selves was revealed to me through experience. I learned to value my own private space and to work out my own issues. It led me to begin training as a psychotherapist in 2002. I am so grateful for that journey of self discovery and where I find myself today.
With the confidence of my clients, we see the way forward together.
